Electroacoustic and instrumental music

About

My music combines instruments, electronics and recordings to create intimate, contemplative listening experiences. Mainly working in electroacoustic composition and the creation of mixed works for soloists and small ensembles, my recent projects include multichannel works for concert presentation and collaborations with instrumentalists on performances with live electronics. I have also created radiophonic works and music for film.

Originally from Canada and living in France, I have forged an artistic practice that involves travelling to gather recordings of specific places, to compose in residence and to take part in festival and concert performances. I have recently taken part in the Apnées artistic residence and performed at the Paysages Composés festival in Grenoble, and I perform and present works regularly in the Paris region. For many years, I have worked with language and sound in the press, radio journalism and arts publishing, experiences which have contributed to placing observation, listening and storytelling at the centre of my creative work.

Through composition, recording and performance, I am interested in how listening forges an experience of place, and my current work explores relationships that emerge between sound, space and environment.
